Warmer Days Ahead for Late October in Singapore

Temperatures to rise as inter-monsoon conditions persist

Singapore is set to experience warmer and less rainy weather in the second half of October, according to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS). Daily maximum temperatures are expected to range between 33°C and 34°C, potentially reaching 35°C on some days.

Weather Outlook
Short thunderstorms are likely in the late mornings and afternoons on several days. Sumatra squalls could also bring widespread thundery showers and strong winds during pre-dawn hours and mornings. However, rainfall will decrease, particularly in the last week of the month, with some days seeing little to no precipitation.

Inter-monsoon conditions, which began earlier in October, will persist. Light, variable winds will dominate, occasionally blowing from the southeast or southwest.

October’s Rainfall Patterns
The first half of October saw frequent afternoon thunderstorms, with Kent Ridge recording 145.8mm of rain on October 14, the highest for the period. Most areas experienced above-average rainfall during this time, a stark contrast to the drier conditions expected in the coming weeks.
