Trump to Rally Unified Republicans in Convention Finale

Former President to Deliver Keynote Address at Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Boosting Momentum for November Election

Donald Trump will make a triumphant return to the Republican National Convention on July 18 (July 19 in Singapore), accepting the party’s nomination for president in a speech aimed at uniting Republicans and building momentum toward his November election showdown with President Joe Biden.

The 78-year-old former president, who has faced numerous legal battles, including a conviction on felony charges in New York just weeks earlier, is expected to deliver a personal reflection on the assassination attempt against him during a Pennsylvania rally on July 13. Despite suffering a gunshot wound to the ear, Trump has continued to rally his supporters and will address the convention in Milwaukee, delivering a 90-minute speech from 9 PM to 10:30 PM.

Trump’s campaign is gaining strength following Biden’s rocky debate performance in June, which has triggered growing calls for Biden to step down. Democratic leaders, including former President Barack Obama, have questioned Biden’s viability for re-election, citing concerns over his age and recent debate struggles.

Trump’s speech will be accompanied by other notable appearances, including world-famous retired wrestler Hulk Hogan and UFC CEO Dana White, as the Republican Party solidifies its commitment to Trump’s vision of a “new golden age for America.”

Despite his legal troubles, Trump’s lead in the polls has expanded as Biden’s popularity falters, especially after Biden’s recent Covid-19 diagnosis and continued scrutiny over his fitness for the presidency. With Biden’s support in key states like Michigan and Pennsylvania weakening, Trump’s campaign is focusing on expanding into traditionally Democratic areas, including Minnesota and Virginia, potentially forcing Biden’s campaign to divert resources from his strongholds.

Trump’s rallying speech is set to close the convention and promises to highlight his strong contrast with President Biden, whom his supporters see as weakened and ineffective. For many, the RNC marks the final step in Trump’s rise to total control of the Republican Party, as he consolidates power and sets his sights firmly on a second term.
