Trump-Style Ear Bandages Are New Trend at Republican Convention

Delegates Wear Fake Bandages in Show of Solidarity Following Trump’s Assassination Attempt

At the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this week, a new fashion statement has taken hold — fake ear bandages, worn by convention attendees as a symbolic gesture of support for former President Donald Trump. This trend emerged following the assassination attempt on Trump on July 13, during which a bullet grazed his right ear.

Delegates such as Arizona’s Susan Ellsworth have embraced the trend, describing it as a way to show solidarity with Trump. “We’re helping President Trump set a new fashion statement,” said Ellsworth, adding that it was a demonstration of their admiration and love for him.

Michael Schafer, another delegate, explained that this new style was different from the familiar red “Make America Great Again” hats, yet carried a similar sense of unity and loyalty to the former president. The convention’s atmosphere is charged with this unique support, culminating in a prime-time address on July 18, when Trump is set to formally accept the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential race.

This trend highlights the intense loyalty Trump commands from his supporters, further cementing his central role in the party as he prepares for the upcoming election.
