Government plans aim to boost housing supply in northern Singapore by 2035.
By 2035, around 14,000 homes will be built across two new housing areas in Sembawang and Woodlands as part of the government’s strategy to increase housing availability in northern Singapore. The Sembawang North and Woodlands North sites will be the focus of the next major Build-To-Order (BTO) launches, beginning in 2025.
Sembawang North will feature 8,000 BTO flats and 2,000 private homes, with a planned neighborhood center and park. The development will pay tribute to the area’s maritime history, incorporating naval themes into the architecture and public spaces. Residents will also benefit from a network of pedestrian walkways and cycling paths.
Woodlands North Coast, a 21-hectare waterfront development, will offer approximately 4,000 flats. It will be connected to the upcoming Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System and the Woodlands North MRT station, providing improved connectivity. The development will offer scenic views of nearby parks, including Admiralty Park and Woodlands Waterfront Park.
These housing initiatives are part of a broader effort to transform Woodlands into a regional hub and meet growing demand for affordable homes in the northern regions of Singapore.
