Man Arrested After Multiple Vehicle Tyres Deflated in Alleged Act of Public Nuisance

Authorities apprehend suspect hours after mischief report in Woodlands.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on November 19 following reports of tyre deflations on multiple vehicles at a multi-storey carpark along Woodlands Drive 14. The police acted swiftly, detaining the suspect within eight hours after follow-up investigations and analysis of surveillance footage.

Incident Details
The case came to light when a car owner discovered all four tyres of her vehicle deflated, with a flyer left on the windscreen. Suspecting foul play, she reported the incident to the police at around 12:50 PM.

Preliminary investigations revealed at least four additional vehicles in the vicinity were similarly targeted. Flyers left on the damaged vehicles suggested the involvement of a climate activist group opposing the use of SUVs.

Legal Proceedings
The man is expected to face charges of public nuisance in court on November 21. Convictions for such offenses in Singapore can result in fines or other penalties, depending on the severity of the act.

This case underscores the effectiveness of Singapore’s police surveillance systems and the authorities’ commitment to addressing public disturbances promptly. Investigations into the broader motivations and implications of the incident are ongoing.
