Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange Set to Open on November 26

The new facility offers seamless connectivity and inclusive features for all commuters.

SINGAPORE – Jurong residents can look forward to enhanced transport options with the opening of the new Jurong Town Hall Bus Interchange on November 26. Located on Venture Drive, the interchange is designed with inclusivity in mind and offers improved connections between bus and train services.

Connectivity and Accessibility
The new interchange will be seamlessly linked to Jurong East MRT station and the existing Jurong East Bus Interchange via covered linkways and a pedestrian overhead bridge. Fully sheltered routes will ensure commuters are protected from the elements when traveling between these transport hubs.

Venture Drive is also being extended to connect Jurong East Street 11 with Jurong Gateway Road, with the new road expected to be operational in early November.

Inclusive Features
Managed by Tower Transit, the interchange prioritizes accessibility for all commuters, particularly those with mobility challenges. Features include:

Barrier-free entrances.
Priority queue zones with seating at boarding berths.
Wheelchair-accessible toilets and changing rooms.
A commuter care room offering a quiet space for those in need.
A dedicated care room for parents.
New and Existing Bus Services
The interchange will serve as the base for a new bus route, service 870, connecting Tengah town to key amenities in Jurong East Town Centre. Additionally, existing services such as 78 and 160 will operate out of the new facility, with all changes taking effect on November 26.

Commuter Information and Adjustments
To ensure a smooth transition, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has provided details of the changes at relevant bus stops, interchanges, and on its website. Staff from bus operators will also be on hand to assist passengers.

“Bus operators, with LTA’s support, will closely monitor the situation and make necessary adjustments to ensure smooth journeys for all commuters,” said an LTA spokesperson.
