Fire Breaks Out at Battery Recycling Plant in Tuas

Incident at KGS warehouse causes fire, no injuries reported.

On the evening of October 27, a fire broke out at a battery recycling plant located at 8 Tuas South Lane. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the situation around 9:10 PM.

The fire occurred at a warehouse belonging to KGS, an e-waste and battery recycling company. SCDF reported that heavy black smoke was seen emanating from a single-storey building on the premises upon their arrival. Firefighters quickly entered the building and utilized two water jets to combat the flames.

The fire involved e-waste that was stored in a 20-meter by 10-meter area. There were no reported injuries in the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by an electrical malfunction originating from the e-waste.
