Singaporeans will receive government payments to help with living costs, healthcare, and retirement savings in December 2024.
SINGAPORE – In December 2024, eligible adult Singaporeans will receive various payouts from the government, aimed at addressing cost-of-living pressures, healthcare expenses, and bolstering retirement savings. Approximately 2.9 million Singaporeans aged 21 and above in 2025 will receive payments ranging from $200 to $600 as part of the enhanced Assurance Package (AP) introduced in Budget 2024.
The amount depends on factors such as income and the number of properties owned. Those who link their NRIC to PayNow by November 23 will receive their AP Cash payments by December 5. Individuals without a linked PayNow account, but with accounts at DBS, POSB, OCBC, or UOB, may submit their details on the govbenefits website by November 27 to receive the payout via Giro from December 16. Payments will be made later through GovCash for those who don’t have a linked bank account.
Additionally, about 1.4 million Singaporeans born between 1974 and 2003 will receive a one-time MediSave top-up of $300 to $500, while those born in 1973 or earlier will benefit from a top-up of $1,250 to $2,000 under the Majulah Package – MediSave Bonus. These MediSave payments were part of earlier government measures to help offset increased MediShield Life premiums.
A third benefit, the Retirement Savings Bonus under the Majulah Package, will be given to around 800,000 Singaporeans born in 1973 or earlier. These individuals will receive a one-time bonus of $1,000 or $1,500 in their CPF accounts, depending on their retirement savings.
These MediSave and CPF top-ups will be automatically credited to CPF accounts starting from December 18. Eligible citizens can check their status via Singpass on the govbenefits.gov.sg website. SMS notifications will be sent in December once payments are credited, and those without a registered Singpass number will receive notifications by mail.
To protect against scams, the government emphasized that SMS notifications will never ask for replies, links, or personal information.
