Trump’s Economic Revival Plan: Will It Deliver for America?

In his latest speech to Congress, Trump unveils bold measures to strengthen the U.S. economy.

On March 4, 2025, President Donald Trump presented a comprehensive plan for revitalising America’s economy during a joint session of Congress. However, the question remains: will Americans remain patient enough to see the results?

In his 100-minute speech, which was widely praised by Republicans, Trump laid out a vision of a “golden age for America” driven by tariffs, tax reductions, and significant cuts to government regulations and spending.

“Our nation’s momentum is back. Our pride is restored. Our spirit has returned. Confidence is on the rise,” Trump declared, marking six weeks into his second presidential term. This address was his first to Congress since his inauguration on January 20.

In a bold move, new tariffs on goods imported from America’s largest trading partners—Mexico, Canada, and China—came into effect on the very day of the speech. These countries together represent nearly 40% of U.S. exports and 42% of imports.
