A collision on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) results in grievous hurt and ongoing investigations.
SINGAPORE – A 26-year-old trailer driver was arrested for careless driving causing grievous hurt after his truck collided with a motorcycle on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on November 1, 2024. The accident occurred around 6:25 PM, along the BKE towards Woodlands, before the Turf Club Avenue exit.
The motorcyclist, also aged 26, was conscious and taken to the hospital by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), who responded to the scene. He was transported to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
A TikTok video by user @liah8676 captured the chaotic scene, showing several individuals directing vehicles to stay to the left while an SCDF ambulance and the trailer truck were visible on the rightmost lane. Another video, posted by @sandhusaab0819, revealed the driver’s cabin of the trailer facing in the opposite direction, suggesting it had been detached from the rest of the truck.
The police are continuing their investigations into the incident, which has raised concerns regarding road safety on the busy expressway.
