Mystery Surrounds Identity of Deceased Man Known by Multiple Names

Despite extensive investigations, authorities remain unable to uncover the true identity of a man who died in Singapore in 2022.

SINGAPORE – The real identity of a man known by names such as “Sunny Tang,” “Sheng Chun Hua,” and “Ah Hua” remains unresolved following his death on August 1, 2022. Despite exhaustive police efforts, the mystery persists, with the State Coroner declaring the name “Sheng Chun Hua” likely fabricated.

The man’s story came to light two weeks before his death when he fell multiple times and was hospitalized. Known to acquaintances as “Sunny,” he had no fixed address and reportedly worked sporadically. Investigators traced connections to former acquaintances, revealing a history of financial instability and abuse allegations.

Unraveling a Mystery
The man’s injuries included multiple rib fractures and brain trauma. He was admitted to Tan Tock Seng Hospital under the name from an NRIC he possessed. However, the NRIC’s rightful owner, identified as Mr. TKP, was alive and unaware of the man.

Items found in the man’s possession, including a debit card and name card bearing “Sunny Tang,” offered no viable leads. Calls to numbers on his call log yielded minimal responses, and his fingerprints were absent from databases in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

A Trail of Fabrications
Testimony from a former partner, Madam TCH, suggested that the man had created false narratives about his life, including his name and background. She recounted a tumultuous decade-long relationship marked by financial dependency and abusive behavior, ending in 2020.

The coroner concluded that the man had fabricated identities, possibly tied to his possession of another person’s NRIC. A public appeal for information, including his photograph, yielded no results.

A Case Without Closure
Despite significant efforts, including database screenings and public appeals, the man’s identity remains unknown. Authorities have closed the case pending new evidence, leaving questions about his past and true identity unanswered.
