Trump website features image of his bloody face to raise funds

An Iconic Photo Sparks Fundraising and Calls for Unity

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign website unveiled a striking image on July 15, 2024, depicting his bloodied face following an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The photo, taken shortly after a bullet grazed his right ear, is being used to rally supporters and raise funds as he presses forward in his bid for re-election.

“FEAR NOT” Campaign
The black-and-white image, captioned with “FEAR NOT” in bold letters, shows Trump with blood streaking down his face and his fist raised in defiance. The image directs visitors to a fundraising page on the platform WinRed, where supporters can donate at various levels. Alongside the image is the message: “Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again,” reflecting Trump’s call for calm and solidarity in the wake of the attack.

In an interview with the New York Post on July 14, Trump described the image as “iconic,” stating, “A lot of people say it’s the most iconic photo they’ve ever seen. They’re right, and I didn’t die. Usually, you have to die to have an iconic picture.”

Aftermath of the Attack
The assassination attempt, carried out by a 20-year-old armed with a semi-automatic rifle, resulted in one death and two injuries among rally attendees before the gunman was neutralized by Secret Service agents. Federal authorities, including the FBI, are investigating the incident as an assassination attempt, while both Trump and President Joe Biden have urged the nation to unite and reject violence.

Support for Victims
In addition to his campaign’s fundraising efforts, Trump has supported a GoFundMe campaign for the victims of the attack. The initiative had raised over $3.5 million by the evening of July 14, demonstrating widespread public sympathy and support for those affected.

A Pivotal Moment
As Trump continues his campaign amid heightened tensions, the photo and its message serve as a symbol of resilience and determination. With the November election on the horizon, the former president is leveraging the incident to rally his base while calling for unity in a deeply divided nation.
