Smart Nation Exhibition to Take Place at library@orchard During Revamp

Digital transformation exhibition aims to boost confidence in technology use.

As part of the ongoing revamp of library@orchard, a new Smart Nation exhibition will be held at the space starting in 2025. Announced at the library’s closing event on October 27, the exhibit, titled “#Heart&Soul: Connected by Smart Nation,” will explore the impact of digital technologies on the lives of Singaporeans. The showcase aims to help visitors understand how digital transformation connects the past, present, and future while fostering digital inclusivity.

Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo highlighted the exhibition’s role in building confidence in using technology and its potential to improve society. The exhibition will allow visitors to experience digital technology in an immersive environment, helping them navigate the increasing influence of technology on everyday life.

While library@orchard is undergoing renovations until 2026, the public can look forward to a revamped space with new features and interactive areas designed to promote innovation and technology exploration. These changes are part of the National Library Board’s (NLB) initiative to rejuvenate libraries across Singapore, offering more engaging and educational experiences for patrons.

Despite the temporary closure, visitors are excited about the possibilities of the transformed library, with regulars like game programmer Mr. Chen Zhi Meng eagerly awaiting the new innovations the refurbishment will bring. The #Heart&Soul exhibition will be launched in the second half of 2025.
