A new transport hub in Buangkok aims to improve commuting convenienc
SINGAPORE – The new Buangkok Bus Interchange will officially open on December 1, offering enhanced connectivity for residents. Located within Sengkang Grand Mall and integrated with Buangkok MRT station, it will become Singapore’s 12th Integrated Transport Hub.
Managed by SBS Transit, the new interchange will initially serve three bus services—110, 114, and 156—which operate along Sengkang East Avenue and Anchorvale. Service 110, previously departing from Compassvale Bus Interchange, will now be relocated to Buangkok and will no longer stop at two Compassvale Road stops. Service 374 will also be rerouted to Sengkang Bus Interchange, closing operations at Compassvale.
In addition to these services, the new interchange features accessible amenities, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet, a baby care room, and a quiet commuter care room. Environmentally friendly features such as LED lighting, water-saving taps, and motion-sensor lights are part of the building’s design.
The new interchange is expected to make commuting easier for Buangkok residents, though some commuters, like Ms. Charlene Choong, expressed that they will still face travel inconveniences due to their locations. They hope for a future feeder bus service to further improve access.
