A woman was struck by a taxi in the early hours of November 13 and taken to the hospital.
SINGAPORE – A 26-year-old woman was hospitalized after being struck by a taxi at a pedestrian crossing in Orchard Road on November 13. The incident occurred at 3:15 AM at the junction of Orchard Road and Handy Road, as reported by the police.
A video posted on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page shows the taxi approaching a pedestrian crossing, where the woman, holding a mobile phone, is hit. At the time of the collision, the traffic lights were green in favor of the taxi. Following the accident, the woman was seen sitting on the road, appearing dazed, while a man exited the vehicle to assist her.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed the woman was later transported to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The 67-year-old taxi driver is currently assisting the authorities with the investigation.
