Man Arrested After Kinex Mall Altercation Leaves Two Injured

A man was arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt following a confrontation at Kinex mall, Tanjong Katong, on 9 November. The altercation left two men injured and requiring medical attention.

The clash occurred when two friends, identified as Sam, 28, and Dan, 30 (pseudonyms), confronted a man in the mall’s third-floor restroom area. Dan alleged that the suspect had inappropriately touched him.

Following the initial confrontation, the situation escalated, resulting in physical injuries. Sam suffered a dislocated right shoulder and two bite wounds, while Dan sustained facial scratches. Both were taken to Changi General Hospital, where Sam was given 23 days of medical leave, and Dan received two days of medical certification.

The Confrontation
According to Dan, the suspect denied the allegations in a filmed exchange before attempting to leave the scene. Sam and Dan followed the man around the mall to ensure he did not escape before police arrived.

The police were called, and the suspect was apprehended after further investigations.
