Outstanding enrolled nurses recognized for their dedication and contributions to healthcare.
On November 21, 2024, the Tan Chin Tuan Nursing Awards ceremony took place at the Ng Teng Fong Centre for Healthcare Innovation, where 12 outstanding enrolled nurses were honored for their exemplary work in the healthcare sector. Among the winners was Ms Siti Nur Ain Mohamad Ismail, a principal enrolled nurse at the Health Promotion Board (HPB), who received the top prize for her role in transitioning the cardiac and endocrine clinics to a paperless system.
Ms Siti, with 17 years of nursing experience, dedicated herself to refining processes for the digital system, seeking constant feedback from specialists. She shared that receiving the award was a recognition of her hard work.
The first runner-up, Ms Sheetha Sinnathamby, a principal enrolled nurse at the National Cancer Centre, was recognized for her compassionate care towards cancer patients, using her extensive experience to help those emotionally overwhelmed by their diagnosis. The second runner-up, Ms Ang Poo Yong from Changi General Hospital, was acknowledged for her consistent dedication to patients in the isolation wards.
In addition to the top three, nine other nurses received merit awards, with cash prizes and certificates. The Tan Chin Tuan Nursing Award, sponsored by the D.S. Lee Foundation and Tan Chin Tuan Foundation, aims to honor the passion, perseverance, and contributions of enrolled nurses across Singapore.
