Accident on BKE leaves two injured and causes traffic disruptions near the checkpoint.
On November 22, a 36-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy were taken to the National University Hospital following a three-car accident near the Woodlands Checkpoint. The incident occurred around 12:05 a.m. on the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) heading toward the checkpoint.
Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force responded promptly, with the woman and the child both conscious but injured. A video shared online showed a red car and two white multi-purpose vehicles on a two-lane road, surrounded by debris. The boy was seen sitting next to the red car, with visible blood on the road, while motorcycles navigated around the wreckage.
An eyewitness reported that an off-duty medic was on the scene providing assistance. The woman had visible injuries, including a bleeding leg, and the boy complained of neck and chest pain. Police are investigating the cause of the accident. Traffic was temporarily redirected due to the blockage on the viaduct.
