14 People Arrested Following Anti-Vice Raids in Singapore and Hong Kong

Cross-border operation targets transnational vice syndicates

Fourteen individuals were arrested after a series of vice-related raids in Singapore and Hong Kong. The operation, conducted from Nov 4 to 20, saw the arrest of four men and 10 women, aged between 24 and 44.

The raids took place across multiple locations, with 13 sites targeted by the police forces of both cities. Eight suspects were arrested for abetting vice, while the other six were found to be vice workers.

In Singapore, a 33-year-old man was apprehended for allegedly operating an online vice syndicate, while three vice workers, aged between 24 and 31, are also under investigation. Authorities seized mobile phones and other vice-related paraphernalia during the raids.

According to Assistant Commissioner Yeo Yee Chuan of the Singapore Police Force’s Criminal Investigation Department, the use of technology by these syndicates has become more sophisticated, allowing them to operate remotely, even from overseas.

Chief Superintendent Simon Kwan of the Hong Kong Police Force stressed the importance of such cross-border operations, highlighting the authorities’ commitment to dismantling organized criminal groups.

In Singapore, individuals involved in these activities face severe penalties, including up to seven years in prison, fines, or both, depending on the offense.
